Green Screen…it’s not an environmental scan

Your marketing committee decides that the new company video should include having all of the interviews done out on the manufacturing floor so people can be seen “in their element”. The problem? You need earplugs and hearing protection because of the deafening machines out on the production line. How are people ever going to hear an interview of someone standing out there over that entire ruckus? It sounds like this might be the perfect time for the video crew to go “green”. Green screen that is. Read the rest of this entry →

I laughed, I cried, I watched again and again…

We’ve all been there. Sitting in the comfort of your living room, watching a program on TV, and the next thing you know, tears are welling up into your eyes and you find yourself crying. Maybe you find yourself starting to talk or yell out loud directly at the TV. You discover you have some type of emotional attachment to the subject of the program you’ve been watching; happy, sad, or angry, whatever it may be. Pass the tissues around. That’s the power and impact of video and the emotional reaction a well told story can evoke from the viewer. Read the rest of this entry →

Bringing it all together…Producer 101

Picture if you will, a great orchestra tuning up before a big performance. Musicians on strings, woodwinds, percussion and various types of brass instruments all playing different notes, warm up scales, random sounds and all of them playing at different tempos. We’ve all heard this “acoustic cacophony” before the beginning of a concert performance or some other show we’ve gone to see. Now enter one person, the one person who brings this disorganized group together, grabs their attention, quiets the commotion and ultimately gets this collection of talented musicians to perform beautiful music together as one team. What (Not) to Wear on Camera

One question I always hear from on-camera, nonprofessional and some professional talent is “What should I wear?” In the interest of creating a video that’s visually appealing and looks professional, I have put together some tips on what to wear on camera. I hope this helps:

Giving “Can” Take Many Shapes

Food Bank

In our community there are many ways that an individual or group can help financially or by donating their time.  During the recent holiday season, members of the PentaVision team and some of their family members helped the Food Bank of Northern Indiana sort food.  With an especially difficult economy, more people are in need, particularly now that the holiday season is over.  And at PentaVision, part of our mission is to be an active part of our community, by giving back in a number of ways.

We decided to capture some of the activities to maybe inspire others to give of their time.  There are so many agencies out there that need your help.  See what you can do in your area.  Let us know, by leaving a comment, what you do to help others in need.  We welcome your comments and if you want more information on the food bank and how you can help, click here:  http://www.feedindiana.org/.
